Na wystawę Aftersun składają się trzy realizacje – seria obrazów pod tym samym tytułem, instalacja dźwiękowa Saleairy: model 762 i instalacja Singulary Pool. Za pomocą syntetycznych środków Ana Kulak buduje sugestywną atmosferę i bogatą narrację rodem z powieści science fiction. Nie potrzebujemy wielu impulsów, aby w naszych umysłach uruchomiły się skojarzenia, historie. Wystawa jest zaproszeniem do dyskusji na temat przyszłości naszej planety i kierunku naszych działań.
Ana Kulak urodziła się w 2002 roku w Mikołajowie w Ukrainie. Z powodu pełnej inwazji rosyjskiej, która rozpoczęła się tam w lutym 2022 roku, wyemigrowała do Polski i w 2025 roku obroniła tytuł magistry na Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Szczecinie na wydziale malarstwa. Obecnie tworzy instalacje multimedialne, często o charakterze site specific, łączące przedmioty, rzeźby i obrazy w szerokim znaczeniu, integrujące dźwięk z przestrzenią. Ana zajmuje się również performansami dźwiękowymi, wykorzystując oprogramowanie i swój głos. W swoich pracach często używa motywów z natury oraz znalezionych i naturalnych materiałów takich, jak ziarno, sól i inne drobne, powszechne przedmioty. Jej kompozycje dźwiękowe na bazie nagrań terenowych też wykorzystują powtórzenia i pętle. Jej prace często budują wrażenie rozległych, kosmicznych przestrzeni.
„Inspirują mnie zarówno materiały, które mogę znaleźć w moim otoczeniu i w naturze, jak i sama ludzka natura. W swojej praktyce artystycznej staram się uchwycić ich interakcję na poziomie uniwersalnym”.

The Afetrsun exhibition consists of three works – a series of paintings under the same title, the sound installation Saleairy: model 762, and the installation Singulary Pool. Using synthetic means, Ana Kulak builds an evocative atmosphere and a rich narrative straight out of a science fiction novel. We do not need many stimuli to trigger associations and stories in our minds. The exhibition is an invitation to discuss the future of our planet and the direction of our actions.
Ana Kulak was born in Mykolaiv in Ukraine in 2002. Because of full-scale russian invasion that started there in February 2022, she emigrated to Poland and defended her master’s degree in Academy of Arts in Szczecin on a Painting department in 2025.
Currently, she creates multimedia installations often with a site specific characteristics that combine objects, sculptures and paintings in a broad sense, integrating sound within the space. Ana is also doing sound performances using software and her voice.
Her work frequently features motifs of nature and utilizes, found and natural materials such as grain, salt, and other small objects that are repeated multiple times. Her sound compositions also often employ repetition and looping, incorporating field recordings. Formally, her works often evoke cosmic spaces, creating an expansive sense of the environment.
„I am inspired by both the materials I can find in my surroundings and nature, and by human nature itself. In my artistic practice I try to capture their interaction at a universal level.”
